Pretty much an average week deep within a society suffering it's death throes---what is considered important by others appalls me---what i consider important bores others---I am ever venturing deeper and deeper in my own head and homestead--the only places left to me....
speaking less and less while observing the rabid strangeness about me.......

Of course he is worth the expense---
while children in the US go to bed hungry, while basic medical care bankrupts the average citizen---while the middle class is lining up at food banks, while any hope of a honorable retirement after a lifetime of hard work becomes a thing of the past...while suburbia becomes slumburbia---while you cannot afford gasoline----
he is worth it---
he is of the 1%---do not dare question this expense, peasant !!!

Planting our seeding tomato plants, into the garden boxes, this weekend, (04-7-12)....a bit early but the weather due to climate change has appeared to advance several weeks into the future---we believe it is safe now to put them out and stabilize them prior to the furnace of the coming summer.....

This past week's full, 5 day commute, total 370 miles, averaged a mpg of 52.1, so approximately 6 gallons of gasoline, at lets round up to $4.00 pg, makes my weekly commuting cost in gasoline $24.00 for the week......bite me Dick Cheney....

My EDC Pack is working perfectly, I managed to break free at work and walk w/loaded pack one day this past week, I know, but hey, at least i managed the one time----watching businesses fail and close up in our small downtown area--leaving only loan sharks and a few resale shops while every soundbite talks of economic improvement...

There is an insane dude flying out of Roswell (our town) who is attempting a world record altitude jump from a balloon. This past Wednesday while at work I observed the, huge, I mean huge, balloon he is using on a test flight of some kind----

I get the Doc Brown, weird science project urge---
Weird science allows for me to enter my own little "thought experiment" world at work allowing me to, in my brain anyway, escape---I currently have two thought experiments working that i am hoping to turn from thought to actually project.......the first to turn to reality is the Omi-manipulator pictured below--- the manipulator comes in kit form--and in my mind there are many uses for this item from simply building something Skynet like...that can grab the DVD remote for me...to playing ball with my little dog......to just having it in the Nerd cave.....

I've built 5 small robots from kits previously so constructing the manipulator is a method of practicing building to return to my previous capability...Once completed I'll provide photographs of the finished product.....The second thought experiment involves the autonomous paintball sentry gun, mentioned previously on this blog---i have begun the design, parts listing and research. Building an autonomous paintball sentry gun is a rather large project, requiring the building of many new skills---but i am looking forward to working step by step on that project, taking my time and building many new neural pathways in my brain---which is how one stays mentally fit. Again as my project enters the acquisition of parts phase I'll provide photographs and continue to photograph progress......just be sure to knock before entering......

Great ideal on the robots projects. Have some fun and develope some skills. That is a win win situation. Look forward to receiving updates.
