We are killing each other within our society with continuously greater frequency.
It is not that it simply seems frequent due to increased news surveillance..
We are killing each other with increasing frequently and in larger numbers.
As rats confined in a high population, high stress environment will kill
and devour each other, so do we.
This is not the result of individuals gone wrong, but rather, repetitive evidence
of a society gone wrong. A society requiring a complete rebuild.
A rebuild in which there is value, not simply money, where there is more time
available for other humans instead of more and more time at work.
A rebuild offering any and everyone a future, a future without fear.
A future where winning the lotto is not a retirement plan.
I am disgusted at my Generation, the boomers. We had the possibility
of creating this type of future for all and we sold out--cheaply.
We kill each other because the society we created, randomly without plan,
based on greed and fear does not work.

I am amazed the difference that my hiking at work program has made in my
mental status while there...this past week was tough---filled with meetings
where we just held each other's private parts and sang
kumbiyah over our supposed greatness.
If it wasn't for my self designed hiking program i would
have projectile vomited all over our meeting room.
My next door neighbor abandoned his house this week..
Yet we are bombarded with spin that the economy is improving???
How does this work? He was a putz, but still...human putzes are the canaries
in the coal mine when it comes to the economy and the canary next door just
fell over
things are not better for people like us;
they are better for the people that feed on us.

Official projections on the upcoming summer weather conditions do not look good for the homestead. Another year of desperate drought across southern New Mexico and all of Texas.
we are attempting to adapt by protecting our gardens against this projected environment
with new methods--high walled garden boxes, lined, to retain water for as long as possible.
Protective coverings against the hot winds, and a controlled, consistent watering system.
I am running thought experiments on reusing grey water into the gardens..this will be difficult without a home structure designed for grey water reuse and difficult to set up on an experimental basis...but I am mentally attempting to design a temporary test system. I would prefer to have a grey water reuse concept available to us or in use before
the price of water rises---
for there is no mercy in capitalism.

Being so pleased with my recent purchase of a Rothco ranger Hoodie jacket I took a chance and ordered one of Rothco's combat shirts illustrated below.
This Rothco product turned out to be an excellent purchase as well and I will be ordering additional shirts today.
The combat shirt is a combination of materials, soft, moisture wicking cotton on the main body section and a durable, wind resistant material on the arms and shoulders.
Velcro cuff closures, reinforced elbows, and sleeve pockets are additional features.
These new clothing designs are based on Iraq and Afghanistan environments and are easily adapted for usage here, in my southern New Mexico home area.
I worn my OD shirt in varying circumstances and my opinion is this item is comfortable, useful and obviously, long term durable. This durability is most important to me on purchases such as this, which by stocking now, will carry me through my retirement years....

Escape and evasion has been in the forefront of my thoughts recently. Current domestic and international conditions are, without a doubt, the causation.
I carry a pocket survival kit and my edc pack daily with me into work. This daily edc pack is supplemented by a complete 3 day, walk out, large pack, containing sleeping bag, and one man tent, in the back of my vehicle.

My goal has always been to have the ability to walk away from any social disruption, or governmental control regardless of the cause, and make my way home to my wife and our secured homestead.
Americans culturally have zero refugee history. There will be a very steep learning curve on our society as domestic populations in the near future begin large, sudden, movements due to economic, natural, health or politically created disasters. Evading this type of disruption or the subsequent governmental control attempts on these movements,
is in no way an armchair survivalist fantasy, it is an absolute, personal, necessity for me.
I began to think on how long ago, almost in a different lifetime, my E & E training took place and how i need to reorganize my thoughts on this issue. Older and slower, but smarter and much better equipped, my expectations as well as my physical and mental conditioning require updating. I have slowly, slowly, begun conditioning training by walking with a loaded rucksack during breaks at work, 3 days a week and am actually pleased on the increases in my performance ---
To assist with this training process i am currently reading---
THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY by Chris Ryan.
A non-fiction biography, Chris Ryan was the British, SAS B20 team member who walked out of Iraq when the rest of the team was captured during desert storm. Chris Ryan's excellent first person account of longest on foot distance, wartime, escape and evasion has refocused me. An excellent story as well.

Check out the PBS "this Old House" series from last week they had a show on how to do the redirection of gray water from your washer.

When I worked I hated meetings. They absolutely accomplished nothing.

Appreciate your blog keep it up.
